Cosmic Encounter
Every alien bends one rule of the game. The only rule nobody can bend is the deal you just made.
About the game
Each player leads an alien species with a single power that breaks a rule of the base game: the ability to look at your cards, to change a card’s value, to move a planet, to refuse an alliance. You send ships to other players’ home worlds and try to land five colonies.
On your turn you draw a hand and point at a planet. The defender may call in allies, and both sides may play attack or negotiate cards. A negotiation lets the two main players trade colonies or strike a deal, and deals are binding for the rest of that encounter.
Powers, alliances and turn order shift every round, so the same group never plays the same table twice.
A round, in order
- 1
Draw and aim
Take a hand of cards and choose the planet your ships will attack this turn.
- 2
Call allies
Both sides invite other players; allies add ships and share in the result.
- 3
Reveal
Compare attack totals, or negotiate a deal instead of fighting it out.
- 4
Land
The winner places a colony, and both main players draw back up.
